About

Me and my boysSince I can remember there have always been two main things that make me happy: Art and Animals.

The art takes me into the colorful world of creativity, possibilities, exploration and freedom of expression, giving me permission to experience all kind of media, play, get messy and have fun like a child.

The animals remind me of the most important things in life: To stay connected with nature and to live here and now. Treated with love and respect, they never hold anything back and show us the pure joy of life and their unfiltered affection. What a wonderful gift! I am blessed to have both my favorite passions in my every day life and I am truly grateful.

Born in Basle (Switzerland), I grew up in an artistic environment and learned from my father, Fredy Felder, a locally known painter. During my education to become a qualified gilder and picture frame maker, I attended classes at the School of Arts and Crafts in Basle and Berne. In addition I completed private courses in a pottery studio and a workshop for raku ceramics. As a professional gilder I worked for several contemporary art galleries in and around Basle.

Since then I have been working as a translator for German, English and Italian in my own office, in the Human Resource management in the IT business and – after moving to Tuscany – as owner of a small bed & breakfast place, enjoying guests from all over the world. This is how I got invited to Tampa, Florida, where I spend the winter months as a so called “snow bird” for the last four years and was lucky enough to be invited as an emerging artist to the annual Winter Park Art Festival in 2013. In the meantime we (my husband, our 5 pets and I) moved back to Switzerland but are currently on a trip in Europe (Spain, Portugal and France) for the next few months.
